What next?

Okay, it's seems that bugs of this release is fixed. What to do next? I do not give any promise as always, but for today my plans looks like this:

- Universal method of soft cap for changing RNA related to the DNA. What is it? For example, right now you can train STR up to infinite values. This is not very real-like, eh? In RL you training of strength at some point will slow down and then halt - your body will reach it maximum potential. With some stimulator's it can be pushed even more but usually with some side-effects... I finally founded a way (algorithm) how to emulate this. I will try to implement it, so for every RNA gene can be switched these "potential borders". (My main difficulty before - these borders need to change with characters growth). This also will bring even more potential to the children legacy mechanic.

- Library like storage for the functions that can be accessed from every script, so scripter's will not be limited by the built in game engine functions for repeating code usage.

- Game engine functions for free control and viewing of the workers and world characters lists. Right now it somewhat limited.

This about game engine. About content:

- I feel that currently game have some lack in the management side - so almost for sure there will be new management tasks and features.

- Belanika expansion?

- Vicky seduction and new recipes?

- I collected pretty much images that can be background of post catastrophe landscapes, so - maybe new areas in the high DS activity zones.

As always, I not do any promises about next release date, and I not guarantee that it will contain all this. Right now it's just a plans after all. :) But I glad to hear comment about them and maybe someone will have some suggestions and ideas too.

  2. More management stuff is great to hear!

    I'd really love a notification for status effects or changes of inactive proxies.As it stands I kinda have to guess when my milking proxy is ready for kitchen milking, or when the belly size of pregnant proxy has increased.

    1. I think you slightly not aware about how game works. There is no "stages" in the body changes. It's continuous process. Description just select template with the best match for crurrent value.

    3. Yes, and one more thing - some parts from description have alternatives. For example: breast size can be shown as cup size or as comparision with something. It's not hadcoded, so game just not know what exactly will be shown next time.

  3. What to work on next depends on whether you mean in terms of content or in terms of the game engine/world.

    As far as the engine goes my first suggestion would be to include more pregnancy support (i.e. for various races that the Proxies can mate with, involving various different gestation periods, rates, sizes, oviposition, etc.). A mean of greater control over the size/shape of the Proxy's assets and bodies would be great as well.

    For example, if you get a breast implant you can have it removed and if your Proxy puts on weight she can work it off, but as far as I know, there is no way to reduce the gains in breast size from overfull mammary glands. Getting a proxy up to max lactation rate and forgetting to milk her for a week can easily bump her up several sizes unintentionally with no way to get her back down (again, as far as I know). You can get pretty big before it starts affecting gameplay at all (besides having more milk storage), but it feels like an option that should be there and it IS a fetish game after all so players who prefer smaller breasts shouldn't be left out. Similarly, things like Kegel exercises and/or stretching-training would give players a means of customizing their Proxies somewhat without cycling through the agency for days on end looking for one that fits ALL of their preferences. In that vein, things like hair dye and coloured-contacts might be a good idea too.

    My final suggestion in terms of game engine, I've already made in a previous post. I say it again not because I'm particularly impatient, but since H.Coder asked I may as well restate it: I really think a fetish system for the proxies would do wonders for the flavour text (and even stat/monetary changes) of most of the game.

    Content side there are lots of ways you could go with the systems already in place. Personally, I really think the game is crying out for an ultrasound scanner of some variety to go along with Belanika's breast scanner. With food, cum, saline, and any number of babies all contributing to belly size, it'll be helpful for players to be able to see just what's going on in their Proxy's mid-section (yes I know you can technically check those things using debug tools/Dev-mode but it'd be nice to be able to in-game).

    Apart from that, I'd really like to see ways to utilize the systems already in place during “late/endgame play”. For example, you can earn a bit of money at the cafe/hospital and a decent amount at the pregnancy strip shows (both of which are great ideas and the sort of thing I'm driving at), but other than that, pumping her full of saline, training her breasts to outpace dairy cows, or doubling her weight (and stat training to accommodate) doesn't change gameplay a whole lot apart from the player's imagination during the sex scenes. I know that when the sex scenes are more flushed out, they'll probably include nods to, or even features relating to bodysize and the like, but I'm talking about content built around the fetishes itself. Exclusive jobs, quests, shops, or encounters/events that are only available if the proxy has a certain aptitude for certain fetishes would help to feel like we (as players) aren't just grinding to watch numbers increase but actually training a Proxy with distinct goals in mind. Eating contests or other means of testing eating ability (I read a hentai once which revolved around a cafe where patrons paid to watch the female staff eat and they had to finish everything the patron ordered), an actual job built around lactation in some way (maybe it takes more time/grants more money the more milk she has?) monsters that had to be fed x amount of breast milk, surrogate pregnancy, belly inflation contests or races, or more experiments with either of our two favourite crazy doctors, are just the first few things that come to mind.

    I could go on but this post is already WAY past "TL/DR" territory. Sorry for that. Point is the game is great and I can't wait to see more (whatever form it may take)!

    1. What you write here, is the general plan for the game. And in many parts it's matched with my own. :)

      But I'm not sure how much time will all this take if I will be the one who work on this. Long. I know this from begining: project of such complexity take lot of time. To reach full potential faster game VERY need more developers. Writers, scripters, picture finders and editors, any help can speed things up. I done most of I can to give peoples powerful tool to realize their ideas - game engine can support almost anything. And I always here to help with questions about "how to".

      This sounds a little minor, but please do not worry - I do not have plans to abadon this. If no one will be interested it just will take a longer time, as I can't work on this more than 1-3 hours a day in most days. It's hobby, and I do not like to turn it into the work. Or it will be no fun for me. :)

    2. than you should add a page to this site for people to 'sine up' to assist you, or some form of guide, detailing the game engines functionality for programmers and scripters, and perhaps some form of bounty bored for the images you need found.

      if you need help, you need to make it easy for people willing to help you, to actually help you.

      I could find you any images you might need, I have one of the largest collections of one of the smallest fetishes, so pic hunting is something I'm good at.

    3. SDK documentation of the game already posted on it's own page (see in the menu), and I always here to answer any questions about how it works or how to do something. Currently scripting SDK is slighly outdated, but if anyone will ask for newest version I can update it pretty quckly.

      But I can't afford any other bounty than placing submited content as a part of the main distribution. I do not have any profit from game, and this will not change. Ever. This is pure hobby thing. :)

    4. I didn't mean you actually had to pay anyone, or even offer anything in return. people who want to see this game progress rapidly will be more than happy to lend a hand in their free time.
      it be more like bug reports, you don't pay people to report those do you? no people report them to help further the game.

      if you really feel you need to compensate for the assistance of the people who choose to help you, thean create some form of dedication page in the game itself and past their chosen display names. -BAM- compensation complete, you get to advance the game a little faster, and some weirdo can brag to his/her weirdo friends and feel impotent!

  4. Being into WG type aspects I would like to explore the feeder scenarios. One where the waitress at the cafe sees you proxy get big and want to stuff her more and more to get her bigger. I noticed that as you over eat her pancakes and eclairs that arousal builds (nice tie-in to start feeder scenarios). I wonder if there is a stomach capacity cap? I've stuffed my proxy with a lot of pancakes, eclairs and creamy lattes. Also, in the "Fetish Cafe" there should be a feeder scenario added to the second floor where instead of being a food presentation to the clients, the clients actually stuff the proxy and rewards her the more they can stuff her.

    1. mite I suggest a simpler way to bring player created proxys into the game, like adding a button under debug event, labeled 'load proxy' allowing you to load a premade proxy into the game,
      or just a general instruction manual, for new users would be good.

    2. Hm, ability to save and load existing character already present in the game engine. So it's will be pretty easy to do. But there is downside - if these characters saved in the old version, they can be not fully compatible with newer versions. Like having outdated version of scripts in organs, etc. Also it can cause with their offspring.

      Currently, characters that need to have a certain appearance and not be a random just generated on the their own DNA templates with specific values. They still slighly different every new game, but this guarantue full compatibility.

I knew it would be easy, its basically a copy of one of the proxy spawn buttons that allows you to choose a pre made template of your designed character. as for the outdated scripts couldn't the 'update organ scripts' button fix that, the game already notifies the player of the outdated script files so they can choose to repair them or not.

    4. "Update organ scripts" - is not panacea. For example, is you try to import character from 0.70 to 0.94 it will quickly become unplayable as they not have some genes that later characters have, so scripts not have right data to work, and create errors. This is complex. But still useful, so this feature still be added.

    5. hmmm... what if you gave it the same functionality as the dna/rna splicers system. wear wean you append dna it doesn't allow duplicates, and only adds the geans that are missing. couldn't this functionality be added to they organ updater using organ scripts with 0.0 values. could that work?

    7. No it's will not work. Created character is very different object from his initial template. And problem is not just to add missing genes. They need to change a right way through character grow up, and in the complex with other genes some times. To create and debug universal update system will take so much time as creating half of the game engine. Way too much work, with uncertain result and with very little real usage.

      For most cases scripter do not really need for his scenario a previously saved character. Using specialized DNA Template is enough, and it's much more universal and independent.
